Happy Monday and welcome to the Ella Friends' Christmas Card blog hop! Today's blog hop was inspired by Ella's latest eBook, 31 Thank You Cards
This eBook was authored by three amazing card-makers, Kimber McGray, Heather Nichols, and Kristina Werner. Inside you'll find: 36 pages of card-making inspiration, 138 tips, tricks, and steps, as well as gorgeous card ideas to adapt to any occasion. And that's exactly what we're doing today. We each took one thank you card from the eBook as our inspiration and made a Christmas card to share with you.
My card was inspired by one of the cards made by Kristina Werner, you'll find her original design on page 25 of the eBook. Here is my version:

I had to laugh when I struggled with card-making at first. Afterall, how can someone whip up a 12x12 page and then be at a loss to put a small card together?!
ReplyDeleteReally enjoy seeing your work at Ella. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteSorry! I had to update my comment to answer the question (something I should remember from my school days). I find card making fun. Sometimes it's easy, and sometimes I have to stretch myself and it's a challenge, but at the core, it's enjoyable and allows me to express myself (which can also be both easy and challenging). So I'm not sure I actually answered the question still, but I'm not sure there is one single answer. BTW, your card is just lovely. Beautiful lines, paper, textures. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI like making cards but they never quite turn out the way I picture them in my head. :) Thanks for the chance to win a copy!
ReplyDeletei love to make cards. love it. and, i just may need to use your card as inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI find card making challenging at times but overall I love it because it is easier to finish than a 12 x 12 page! Love your cards and how you share your strong Catholic faith! jeandonny2000@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card--very elegant. I have always found card making more challenging than scrapping a whole 12x12 layout. I love to use other cards as inspiration! kscraps1@srokaweb.com
ReplyDeleteI like making cards, but I have been in total scrapbook mode for the last year or so. And I rarely make them now.

I find card making quite easy. I seldom follow a plan when I craft, but make it up as I go along :)

I like making cards but I do tend to find it difficult.

Wow, what a lovely card! I enjoy the process of card-making, but the design process is sometimes intimidating!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors on your card!

Forgot to say... I find cardmaking easy, but I have trouble deciding on the design. Once I decide, then it goes together easy! Too many choices!

Your color combo is wonderful. I love the addition of the doily (?) in the lower left corner.
ReplyDeleteCard making can fall into either category for me depending on how creative I'm feeling. Sometimes the cards just come together and other times I have to fight with them. When it's the latter, I usually just walk away. Thanks for a chance to win.
