Sketch #9

Sketch #9 in the challenge series went up today at The Daily Trumpet.  After the last sketch which featured six photos, I've simplified things a bit this time around.  As I always say there are no rules or limits as to how you use the sketch, just let the sketch inspire you to create and then share it with us! =)

I am happy to announce that this month the Stretch Your Sketches Challenge Series is being sponsored by Ella Friend Monika Wright and her etsy shop

So in addition to winning a free copy of my eBook Stretch Your Sketches,

The winner will also receive a $20 gift certificate to i love it all and Monika has generously agreed to ship internationally - thank you Monika!

This week I took a turn at stretching the sketch, and I did stretch it quite a bit!  You can read my description in the post to get the full details.  Here is my layout which documents our family's love of In-N-Out:

The journaling reads:  Every Sunday after mass we go to In-N-Out for lunch. We’ve had this tradition in our family for almost three years now. When we go, the boys always get stickers. Nathan calls them "stickos" and he likes to make the cars in his picture crash (if you were there you'd get to experience the sound effects too). Gabe on the other hand likes things to make a little more sense and he makes the woman hold the flowers (which is too sweet). One day while we were eating Gabe said, "Isn't In-N-Out great?" Yes, Gabe, it is; we couldn't agree more.

Inside the pocket are the sticker pictures that my two sons made on this particular trip (if you'd like you can see them here).  Even if we keep this tradition for years to come, I don't know how long these simple stickers will make my boys happy and so while I don't save them every week (can you imagine the stack I would have by now!?) I did want to save at least one set as a reminder of these days.

Joining me this week in the challenge is May Flaum.  Here is a sneak peek at her layout:

And here is what May had to say about herself:

When it comes to crafting I am all about the fun. Hi there, my name is May Flaum and I’m just a purple, damask, vintage loving crafter and work from home mama of two lovely girls. I’ve worked in a lot of positions in the scrapbook industry, and I’ve enjoyed every minute. From teaching classes on-line to creating new projects for a design team I just love scrapbooking. It combines my love of family, good times, color, design, and lets me put all the photos I love to take to good use. I love cooking, photography, spending time outside in the yard, and being silly. I have a new book with Memory Makers called Scrapbook Workshop (coming end of August), and on-line you can find me as a contributing editor for Scrapbook Update, teaching on a regular basis at Big Picture Classes, and blogging almost daily.

Keep up with May at her blog confessions of a chocoholic.  Registration for May's current Big Picture Class, Double Take is open now.

May's layout is so beautifully done I hope you will visit the Daily Trumpet to see the rest of the layout as well as the sketch that inspired the layout.

And I hope that you will join in the fun too!
