March for Life 2010

Friday was the 37th annual March for Life. The very first march took place on January 22, 1974 and had an estimated attendance of 20,000. This year the estimated attendance is somewhere between 250,000 and 400,000! I am so proud to say that my mom was one of the marchers! Go mom! She called me on Thursday night to tell me that she had just returned from the Solemn Mass for Life celebrated at The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. She was excited about the march and asked us to record it for her since it would be airing live on EWTN.

For all the coverage and commentary I've been visiting the National Catholic Register's website. Lots of interesting commentary and insights there, especially this article. As Mark would say, go check thou out. Or something like that.

Why I *heart* Ella

This week has been so busy that I haven't had much time to work on the changes that I'd like to make to my blog. But I can't let the day end without posting my news.

I am the author of an Ella eBook! The book is called Stretch your Sketches and it is set to be released next week, January 19th. Go visit this article by Angie Lucas in this month's Scrapbook Ellaments and scroll down to the bottom for a sneak peek of the cover.

In celebration of the release, Ella and I are hosting a sketch challenge on the Ella blog. Ella even came up with this adorable logo:

I love it!

If you want to see the details of the challenge and participate you can go to the Ella blog for all the details. I really hope to see you there!

I'm going to work on updating this little blog of mine. What can I say? I've been busy - aren't we all? But, since I wasn't so much in the habit of posting in the first place, I certainly wasn't making it a priority when things got busy...
